Valgrande, the great amphitheater with its glacial origin, represents a very interesting naturalistic area. It lies between 1250 and 1350 meters altitude. The place where the thermal plants can be found existed already as far back as the 1800's. The thermal plants employ ferruginous waters.

It is a characteristic "U" shaped valley, of glacial origin, it is still mostly wild with its steep rocky walls. The stream Tegnas runs through it, and it is the departure point for many excursions to the Pale Di San Martino Mountains and to Mt. Agner. From the Cozzolino refuge hut, it is possible to do a giddy climb on the northern wall of Mt. Agner about -level 6' -, a corner of about 1.000 meters long, perfectly vertical. Iori, Andreoletti and Zanutti did the first climb of this wall in 1921.

It is an important archeological site. It has a very interesting environment for the wide range of fauna and flora. The Visdende valley offers to its visitors much more than a simple walk.
