By road this town can be reached from three directions. From North: from Cortina SS 51 Alemagna; From South : from Venice highway A27- exit Pian di Vedoia; From East: from Centro Cadore take SS 51 bis Alemagna. By train: the closest train station is in Calalzo about 3 km away, and then it is possible to take a bus . By plane: the closest international airport is in Venice -Tessera (135 km); the airport in Treviso is about 100 km away.

Historical information
In order to appreciate the natural beauties of Valle di Cadore, it is necessary to leave the state road that literally splits the town in a half. Driving in to the center of the town, it is possible to see nice buildings ( in both the Venetian and Cadore styles) and some archeological findings such as the "Roman Road - Via Romana" , and the remains of homes dated back to the first and second century a.d. Above a precipice over the Boite valley, it is possible to admire one of the most spectacular churches in this area: the San Martino Church, built in the 700's over the debris of a Roman castle.

Useful information
Together with the villages of Vallesina and Venas, this town has about 2100 inhabitants. The origins of Valle di Cadore are very old. As proven, a lot of evidence from the Roman and the Pre-Roman era have been found here during the 50's by the archeologist Enrico De Lotto. Now these findings are on display in the Archeological Museum of the Magnificent Community of Cadore. If you would like to see for yourself the ancient origins of this town, walk along the Roman road. Take a look at its old buildings rich with balconies, arches and arms, up until the San Marino church.
